Tourist Development Council Grants

St. Johns County Tourist Development Council Arts, Culture and Heritage Grants
October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022

This Tourist Development Council (TDC) funding program is administered by the St. Johns Cultural Council pursuant to an agreement with the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners. The intent of the ACH Grant Program is to increase the positive economic impacts of local tourism by encouraging exemplary arts, culture and heritage programming and supporting enhanced advertising and promotion of these quality tourism opportunities. 

Grant Guidelines for the 2021-2022 FY include significant changes.  Please review the draft guidelines here. All nonprofit arts, cultural and heritage organizations that are seeking funding based on their overall budget must complete the online Letter of Intent to Apply here by May 17, 2021.

The guidelines were accepted by the Tourist Development Council on March 15, 2021 and were approved by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on April 20, 2021. 

The Grant Application Portal is now open. The deadline to apply is June 25, 2021.

A series of helpful Mandatory Online Grant Workshops are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday, May 18 at 1:00 pm
  • Tuesday, May 25 at 10:00 am
  • Thursday, June 3 at 2:00 pm 

All applicants must attend at least one Grant Workshop. 

Individual appointments for additional assistance with grants will be available for applicants who have attended a grant workshop beginning  May 20, 2021. Technical Review by SJCC staff completed as applications are received and no later than June 30, 2021.

Applications are scored by a Grant Review Panel during a public meeting at the St. Johns County Administration Building at 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine Florida 32084.  Applicants may attend the meeting in person or telephonically and will have an opportunity to provide a brief update and answer panelist questions. The Grant Review Panel Meeting will occur during the week of July 26, 2021 (preferably July 29). The funding recommendations will be presented to the TDC on August 16, 2021 then presented to the BOCC on September 7, 2021 for approval. On date October 1, 2021 grant contracts will be executed by the grantees.
