A total of 8 SASI-ONE Awards  (SASI = Shop America Salutes Innovation) for shopping and cultural tourism marketing excellence were presented at the annual SASI-ONE Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, September 27, during the ONE Travel Conference at the Tropicana Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards are sponsored by CenterCal Properties in partnership with Shop America Alliance and the U.S. Cultural & Heritage Tourism Marketing Council.

Renowned international artist and St. Johns County resident Dr. Susanne Schuenke will debut a large assortment of her artwork at an opening reception on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 8:15-9 a.m., in the Rotunda area of the St. Johns County Administration Building prior to the regularly scheduled St. Johns County Commission meeting. The seven-week showing is sponsored by the St. Johns Cultural Council.

Film Florida, the private statewide organization promoting the production of film, television and entertainment recently concluded its annual conference in Destin, Fl. In Destin Film Florida Executive Board elections were held with Marty Lewis chosen to serve as an alternate member of the Film Commission Council Division of the Board.

On the eve of Donald Trump’s Inauguration, The Hill newspaper reported that Trump Transition Team staff intend to recommend that the President-elect eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities as well as privatize the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

St Johns Cultural Council will host another in a series of Technical Assistance workshops on Sponsorship Development for the arts culture and heritage industry in St Johns County.  The workshop conducted by Mix It Marketing from Atlanta is free and open to the public.

The St. Johns Tourist Development Council and the St Johns Cultural Council in St Augustine Florida seek individuals interested in serving on the Arts Culture and Heritage Grant Funding Panel. Non-resident Panel Members are reimbursed for travel expenses.
