The Gypsy Cab Company's Independent Film Series, better known as Dinner and a Movie continues on Monday, March 30 with Play the Game. The buffet dinner begins at 6:00p.m. with the movie starting at 7:00p.m.  The $25 per person ticket includes a delicious buffet meal, one non-alcoholic beverage, the movie, and a $5 donation to the St. Johns Cultural Council. Due to the popularity of the movies, reservations are requested and can be made by calling 824-2937.

Play the Game, directed and written by Marc Fienberg, is an original comedy with surprising and clever twists and turns.   A young ladies man, David, teaches his dating tricks to his lonely, widowed grandfather, and plays his best mind games to meet the woman of his dreams.  As David's games begin to fail him, Grandpa quickly transforms into the Don Juan of the nursing home.  Slowly, the teacher becomes the student, and it's up to Grandpa to teach David that the best way to win the game of love is not to play the game at all. Along with Griffith, viewers will also recognize  two other familiar television stars in the cast, Doris Roberts from Everyone Love Raymond and Liz Sheridan, Jerry's mom in Seinfeld.

The dinner menu includes salad with Gypsy dressing, chicken Franchise, sausage and peppers, vegetable risotto, roasted peppers, vegetable du jour, assorted desserts, and coffee. A full bar is also available. 

Dinner and a Movie is presented each month by The Gypsy Cab Company, The St. Johns Cultural Council, and The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival as a fundraiser for the St. Johns Cultural Council.  Five dollars from each ticket goes to the Cultural Council to help them continue their work advocating for the arts on a local, county, and state level.
