Eligibility: Graduating 12th grade women students (public, private or homeschooled) who are United States citizens and St. Johns County residents who have been accepted into an arts based program of higher education.
Intent of Fellowships: To advance the creative endeavors of the applicant. The fellowships are awarded to talented young women artists to further study in their chosen field. Student must be accepted into a BFA program, summer institute/intensive or workshop. Student must have a 3.0 grade point average.
Fellowship Amount: $500 Award. One each for Performance, Literary, and Visual.

The St. Johns Cultural Council is seeking nominations for the ¬¬2014 annual Dr. Gail Pflaster ROWITA Awards (Recognizing Outstanding Women in the Arts.)
The Cultural Council is asking members of the community to submit nominations of women who have made significant contributions to the arts and the arts community in St. Johns County.
To nominate an individual, please submit a one page letter that includes the following information:
1.Number of years applicant has resided in Saint Johns County
- (minimum of at least 5 years)
2.Nominee’s name and contact information
-E-mail, home/cell/business phone numbers, home address, Website page (if applicable)
3.A brief history of the nominee
-Personal bio (place of birth, work experiences, etc.)
4.Accomplishments, awards, special recognitions
5. Community impact of the nominee’s work, contributions, leadership, etc. to the arts in Saint Johns County
-Include Arts advocacy initiatives that have had a direct impact on Saint Johns County
6. Nominator’s contact information (e-mail, phone number), in case we need more info about the nomination.
Please include:
•Photograph of the nominee
•Press/media clippings and any additional supporting materials about the nominee
Nominees must be current residents of St. Johns County. Lifetime achievement will be one of the most important criteria for determining the final selections. Artists of all disciplines, including literary, visual, and performance are eligible.
Nominations may be e-mailed to stjohnscultural@bellsouth.net or mailed to St. Johns Cultural Council, 15 Old Mission Avenue, St. Augustine, FL 32084. The deadline for nominations is December 1, 2013. Only fully completed nominations will be considered. Past nominees who were not selected may be re-nominated.
